Rag Scrap Dish Cloth

Hello Everyone,

Thank everyone who may have read this column last September and contributed to the USA UNITY 9/11 Canvases. Around four hundred paintings will be displayed at the WAH Center Brooklyn , NY

I feel so honored to have one of my works there.

Now I know my son keeps telling me that my fanatic recycling articles are going to get people to call me the "Rag Lady," but I developed several simple patterns to use thin torn rag strips for dish scrubbing cloths. I can't see paying to buy scrub cloths, but regular rags are just too thin. So I made up quick, easy paterns for both knit and crochet.

Directions;

Tear clean light weight cotton rags into 12 or 14 inch strips -- depending on your patience.

Crochet:

With K aluminum hook chain 20.

Next two rows double crochet.

Pattern: For as many rows to mkae preferred size *dc, chain one, rep from * across row.

Easy. Loks great.

Knit:

Cast 20 stitches on to a number 9 (American) knitting needle. Garter stitch for two rows. Pattern: *k one, yo, K two tog* repeat across row.

Repeat this row until you achieve length you desire.
