Lesson# 5: Joining woven strips by Lili Pintea-Reed

After you have woven your various strips on your frame loom (or by another method) there are two easy ways to join them crocheting and sewing.

To crochet the pieces together: 1) place them next to each other matching the weft (sideways) weaving. Put the crochet hook through the abutted sections as in the picture below.

2)then draw the yarn through and create a loop as in the picture below.

Repeat step one and pull yarn though. Wrok up the seam until finished and bind off.

Join By Sewing:

You can join the two sections by sewing very easily. Thrust the needle through as in the picture beow:

And work in an overhand stitch up the length of the piece. You can join many pieces this way to make rugs in heavy fibers, or shawls, towels, and table clothes in finer yarns.
