Lesson#3: Finishing Frame Projects
Once you have filled in the woven part of your frame loom project you need to secure the ends of the project and remove it from the loom. Since we are using a very heavy rag for this project you will need to stitch the ends of the warp to the end weft. This will keep your hard woven project from unraveling. The easiest way to stitch is to simply over cast the ends togther as in the photo below. Please note I used a big needle for purposes of demonstration in real life I just use an enbroidery needle.
Once the ends are secure you can cut the piece from the loom as in the next photo.
Now you have finshed a wonderful project or you can take several frame woven pieces and make a nice area rug like this one. You'll get the directions for weaving over the top and piecing next week.
