Since this will shrink mightly, make the hat (before felting) to cover your head and almost reach your shoulders. It will look huge!!

Bind off yarn.

To FELT:

Place hat in net bag. Toss in washing machine with a load of pants or soething else that takes a hard wash. Run through the wash cycle and check for felting. If it is still too small run through rinse cycle. Check again. It should have greatly contracted. If it is still a bit too big, run through another hot wash cold rinse cycle. It should be felts into a great hat. The hat in the picture took two trips through the wash to shrink up enough to wear!

To dry just place on a butter tub, or over a small bowl to shape. Turn up brim. Let dry in warm place.

Happy Holidays!!!
