Is there an 'Anti-Bush get on the band wagon' fad going on in Hollywood?
First, there was Michael Moore's Fahrenheit/911 - Then part of the Comic Relief Gang's (Whoopi Goldberg) open condemnation - later Steven Spielberg produced the Democratic Presidential hopeful John Kerry's promotional documentary. The UK's Telegraph Newspaper printed this commentary on August 31st 2004: "I think there are more conservatives in Hollywood than you would think, but I don't think they're going to come out because you never know why you don't get your next job," the pro-Bush comedian Dennis Miller said last year. Actors, writers and artists across the world have fought for the freedom to express themselves - Condemning and practically ostracizing other artists for holding certain opinions because they conflict with popular views doesn't sound quite right to me. It does sound almost similar to the blackballing of Hollywood celebrities that occurred in the fifties - Which left many celebrities out of work and out of any prospects of work. Is Hollywood using their resources to push a candidate? Doesn't it sound like mass propaganda? That would be Ok-I mean it's their dollar. But, what's being promoted entirely true - which may lead you to wonder? I mean we all know that Bush entered an illegal war against Iraq. But how many US presidents have done that? Come on . . . let's be honest. And Kerry said openly that he probably would have done the same. Probably? I am not a Bush supporter but, again, the American love the "underdog" - Looks like Hollywood is doing a good job of making Bush look like the "Presidential Underdog" ---again. Which is what I think got the undecided votes' caste for him in the last election? Maybe Hollywood should concentrate on the poor. The poverty and homeless levels in America have risen by astronomical proportions. The first report of that rise was published in August 2001 by the Mayors of Major cities of America - usually these reports are representative of the effectiveness of the previous administration. How many poor are democrats? Statistics claim that the highest poverty levels are in rural areas, which are usually Conservative Republicans. Wouldn't the poor feel that their economic crisis are related directly to President Bush? They might. Isn't this an ace in the hole for Hollywood to get their man elected? Why aren't they concentrating on the poor - Rather, than the war in Iraq? If Kerry were elected how quickly would he be able to resolve the insurgencies in Iraq? Would he immediately pull out the troops? Makes you wonder. Go To Page: 1 2
