not be the best female director Hollywood has to offer but she’s certainly more talented with subjects than Mimi Leder is (though Leder gets much higher profile material to work with). It seems to me that Spheeris will do films like Wayne’s World for the sheer value of a paycheck so that she can concentrate on other observational material when she has saved her pennies. And I don’t begrudge her this possible tendency. After all, I would probably to it myself if I were in her shoes.
