Her works revolve around young people, animals and accomlishing a goal. Ms. Norton's books have characters that undergo changes to become stronger. Her themes involve the decent treatment of animals, diversity and other emotional issues. She tells compelling stories without the use of profanity or violence. Mirror of Destiny is a Fantasy about a conflict between the human world and a Fairy world. A woman, Twilla, wins the King's lottery and must get married by force. She must enter an enchanted forest with a warrior and his blind son. The addition of a magical mirror spurs this vivid Fantasy into a remarkable conclusion. Many of her books for children have believable characters and entertaining stories too. Some of them can be enjoyed by adults. Her "Magic" books are her most famous. One of them is Steel Magic. It tells the story of three children drawn into the world of King Arthur. The two brothers and sister are sent on separate quests to find and return various objects belonging to King Arthur. They must use their wits to succeed in this delightful tale of adventure and overcoming fears. One of her recent books is Scent of Magic. This story involves an interesting magical talent. Magic can be good or evil, but comes from plants and scents. Willadene is a young scullery maid who has the magical sense to smell good and evil auras. She is apprenticed to an herbalist. Soon she is drawn into a world of court intrigues, quests and a battle against an evil god. Ms. Norton weaves a new twist of magical talent and interesting characters into an entertaining story.
