Book Review: A Fine Impersonation by K.G. McAbeeThe Internet creates new opportunities with each new day. One of these opportunities are E-books. With the help of Internet publishers, more authors can get their works published in a new format. Recently, I read my first E-book. A Fine Impersonation by K.G. McAbee is a Fantasy E-book. It has a sardonic sense of humor along with its fast paced adventure and intrigue. The book has an engaging plot, likable characters and jesting themes. The main character, an actor, wakes up to be told he'll be impersonating the prince. He is to do this in order to save the scholarly masters from execution by the prince's ruthless sister the Queen. He is told that he will wed the Queen's commander too. Thus starts this adventurous story of court intrigue. Told in first person point of view, our hapless actor must negotiate increasing problems in order to stay alive. Things get very complicated when his mother shows up. He impersonates the young, simple-minded prince to perfection. Ms. McAbee keeps the plot moving swiftly with her clear, easy to read style. Likable characters add a deeper dimension to the book. Melos, the actor, has a very dry wit. He uses his acting talents and bright personality to advantage. His unexpected love for the Queen's commander gives him a human touch. Ravyn Malakar is a tough woman commander. She resists her love for Melos, feeling unworthy in her mind and not wanting to fight the court. There is an arrogant sorceress called Ygraine who tries to manipulate everyone. Adrian is the worried master, constantly eating to compensate for his fear. Other characters add to the humor and intrigue of the story. Lastly, the jesting themes of the book gives it a sardonic edge. Ms. McAbee creates a breezy atmosphere of danger, social commentary and romance. Through the characters and story, readers get a good look at the human flaws of arrogance and reckless ambition. They also get a look at how love can change a person into a hero. A Fine Impersonation by K.G. McAbee is a witty, entertaining Fantasy E-book. Its engaging plot, likable characters and jesting themes makes the book a readable pleasure to enjoy. This E-book in available from Abby the Troll publications, LLC at http://www.thetroll.net . Check out this book if you're looking for a good humorous read. E-books are growing every day. They will provide a new venue for authors in the future.
