Top Fantasy Plays for Week 1have 150 yards and one score. 5. Joe Horn – He goes up against a strong pass defense in the Bucs, but Horn had two TD catches against them last season. Expect a solid day for the Saint’s offense. 6. Rod Smith – If the game against the Rams turns into a shootout, Smith will be the primary beneficiary of a lot of Brian Griese passes. 7. Tim Brown – Brown did not have good games against the Seahawks last season as Jerry Rice did most of the damage. Brown should bounce back with close to 100 yards and a score. WR Sleeper Pick – Chris Chambers is a strong sleeper pick for the same reason that Jay Fiedler was. He’ll overmatch the aged Detroit secondary. Defenses 1. Green Bay. Time to feed the sharks. The Packers get one of the leagues worst offenses as the Falcon’s come to town. No Running game, no WRs, and a 2nd year QB will spell disaster for the Falcons, but lots of points for those who play the Packer’s defense. 2. Miami – Detroit will be improved, but the offense is still settling in with all new WRs and TEs, along with a 2nd year QB in Mike McMahon. The Dolphins should have a field day. 3. Washington – The Redskins will give up some points but they should come up with at least two INTs and some sacks against Jake Plummer and the Cardinals. 4. Baltimore – The Raven’s “D” may not be what it was a couple of years ago, but it doesn’t matter going up against the worst offense in the NFL in the Panthers. With Rodney Peete at QB, and Lamar Smith at RB, don’t expect the Ravens to give up more than 10 points and they should record at least 3 turnovers. 5. Oakland – Oakland brought in a lot of new players to improve their defense and it should pay dividends in the opener against Seattle. With Trent Dilfer out, the Raiders should have a big game as long as they contain Shaun Alexander. 6. Dallas – Dallas’ defense is solid and they could ask for no better opponent in game one than the expansion Houston Texans. A rookie QB and a lack of a running game means a big day for the Cowboys defense. 7. New England – The Monday Night game against the Steelers should be a low-scoring affair and both teams are good defensive plays this week. Defensive Sleeper Pick – Denver. The Broncos
