Breaking TradesJust a quick note on how the NBA trading deadline activity might change some values: Juwan Howard No one was happier to be traded than the former Fab 5er. However, he goes from #1 option in purgetory East to #3 in Mark Cuban's funhouse. Numbers go down across the board (except for his contract numbers) Christian Laettner Goes from the bench in Dallas to perhaps the best player in Washington. Not to damn the smug one with faint praise. Worth picking up as his minutes will rise as will his opportunity. Remember, Chris is an UFA after this season so some garbage time numbers will help the old salary drive. Courtney Alexander Michael Jordan thought Alexander was the 2nd best player in the draft. Now he's got him. Big question is: He's third on the depth chart at the 2 guard. Probably not worth picking up, even for next year. Not yet. Dikembe Mutombo They will ask Dikembe to do a lot to jusify this trade. So expect better than average producion from Dikembe. I like him esp. to jack up the rebound totals. Lots of Iverson misses to grab. Theo RatliffOnce he returnss from his hand injury, should resume his production. Although the dismal losing in Atlanta might keep that hand hurting a little longer than it might have in Philly. Mark Jackson Wouldn't expect any changes, still only useful as an assist man. Can't see him busting out even in his old home town. Corliss Williamson Maybe Corliss can redeem himself from the bad decision not to take the deal from the Kings a few years ago. Detroit has got Stakhouse and not much else. Expect them to give Big Nasty a good look and that means some cheap points and boards if you need them.
