Who's Hot March 13, 2000
This week, a list of some of the non-All Stars who are turning it up a notch as the season winds down. Larry Hughes 29.5 PPG in his last 4 -- Hughes is proving that given a chance, he can be a top flight scorer in the NBA. Get him if you are in a keeper league. Antonio McDyess 26.5 PPG in last 4 -- As Denver's playoff hopes fade, Dyce heats up. Derek Anderson 22.0 PPG 2.3 SPG last 3 -- remember he's a free agent after this season. Donyell Marshall 21.0 PPG 10.0 RBG 2 BPG in last 4 -- Donyell's taking full advantage of his increased minutes due to Antawan Jamison's knee injury. Ride him if you can. Wally Szczerbiack 20.3 PPG last 3 -- Developing into the 3rd option that Minnesota will need to make a playoff run Arvydas Sabonis 9.2 RBP last 5 -- Can't see his role getting larger, Dunleavy would be wise to save him for the playoffs. Keon Clark 11.2 RBG last 4 -- Big guy with big upside. Just needs minutes. Gerard King 7.4 RBG 1.6 SPG 1 BPG last 5 -- All of a sudden, King getting major minutes in Washington. Does a lot of little things, won't be a major contributor but helps a little across the board. Derrick Coleman 12.7 RBG last 3 -- Talent has always been there, injuries and attitude determine whether or not your investment pays off big or busts big. Jason Terry 10.5 APG 2 SPG last 4 -- The future in Atlanta. Isaiah Rider and Bimbo Coles are the past. Lamar Odom 7.5 RBG last 4 -- At least Lamar hasn't been broken by his first year in the Clipper asylum. Here's hoping that Kareem and Dennis Johnson can rescue this young star. Chris Whitney 5.0 APG last 5 -- Rod Strickland says he'd like to be a Knick. Michael Jordan will try as hard as he can to accomidate him this off season. When Rod decides he doesn't want to play this year, Whitney will get the call. Erick Strickland 4 STG last 4 -- Every once in a while, Strickland just explodes, a 30+ point game a couple of weeks ago, this steal fest last week. Needs to develop consistency. Theo Ratliff 4.7 BPG last 4 -- Here's a thought for Pistons' VP Joe Dumars? Would you trade Jerry Stackhouse and Christian Laettner for Theo Ratliff and Bonzi Wells? You know, I would.
