Get the Inside Scoop on Travel

Did you know that it's possible to take trips worth thousands for pennies on the dollar? Did you know that most travel-related businesses -- from hotels to airlines -- would rather fill those empty rooms and seats, even if they can only recoup a fraction of the published fare? Did you know that there are services that will point you in the right direction for finding these bargains? One of the best newsletters I've seen is Travel Talk, published for FREE by travel writer Lisa Addison. With more than 20 years of journalism under her belt, Addison knows where to find the bargains, and is willing to share them with her readers. The newsletter comes out biweekly, and did I mention that it is FREE? A recent issue included a "Tips and Tidbits" section with information on bargain cruises, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, and a design-your-own itinerary function on the German National Tourist Board's website. Readers send in their own tips and news, and there are additional sections on cruising, festivals and tours. My favorite part by far is the "Freebies" section, where Addison gives you the scoop on the no-cost items you can get. There's even a section for writers! The one thing that bothers me is the formatting -- it looks bad sometimes, but that could be a function of my AOL email, rather than the actual format. As I mentioned, you can register for this free email by going to the website at www.writerlisa.com, or by emailing Addison at itsnews2me@aol.com. Tell her where you heard about the newsletter!
