Holiday Air Travel

Jan 2, 2001 - © Lain Ehmann

5. Expect the unexpected. During the holidays, anything can happen, so be prepared. Travel a bit in advance so you won't miss anything important if your flight is delayed a few hours - or a few days! Bring enough snacks, diapers and changes of clothing for the kids to keep them happy and you sane, even if you're stuck in Omaha. And assume that you'll be delayed, so if it happens you're not caught off guard.

6. Keep the holiday spirit. This can be the toughest thing to remember: You're traveling for fun. Yes, it might not be the relaxing vacation you wish you had, but it can still be enjoyable. Sing Christmas carols on the runway. Pass out candy canes to your fellow passengers. And greet everyone with a big smile and a cheery "Happy holidays!"
