Jump Start Spanish Review

Getting a jump start on education is extremely important in our children's lives. We as parents should use every possible means to ensure that our children have the tools necessary to achieve. Second languages are becoming increasingly important in our multi-cultural society. Jump Start Spanish by Knowledge Adventure is a wonderful tool to introduce our children to the Spanish language and culture.

Studies show that the best time for linguistic learning is between the ages of two and six. Do your child a favor and get this software to expand their horizon and assist them in learning Spanish.

Installation is a breeze and once installed you are invited to sign in your child's name. Once this is complete, you are now ready to join Hopsalot in the clubhouse. Here you can find ten activities designed to introduce your child to a group of words, phrases or songs. Here is a breakdown of the activities:

Sketch Pad will teach and reinforce the numbers from one to ten and counting skills.

Palette teaches your child the names of colors by painting pictures. They can even print out their pictures.

Wall Poster will teach your child the names of body parts.

In the Doll House you can visit the kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom while learning the names of common household items.

The Closet is where your child will help the bear get dressed while learning the names of clothing and accessories. (This activity is my child's favorite).

Toy Town teaches the names of buildings, vehicles and more in the neighborhood.

The Gamebox will review all the vocabulary included with the other activities plus animals and toys.

Calendar teaches days of the week as well as months.

Television is where your child can watch puppet shows depicting conversations about weather, food, feelings and more.

Finally, Boom Box has four songs including two traditional Spanish folk songs.

This program features two levels of play, Level 1 and Level 2. Level 1 is for discovery of new vocabulary and should always be used first to get the child acquainted with the activity. Level 2 rewards the child with gold stars as the find the correct objects. When 5 gold stars are received, they may choose a fish or accessory for the aquarium.

Also included are progress reports that show your child's exposure to new vocabulary words and the number of gold stars they have received.

This is a great software program to add to your collection of educational tools for your child(ren).
