Join Reader Rabbit and Mat the Mouse as they take your toddler (18 months - 3 years) on a magical adventure. These wonderfully animated characters bring this Reader Rabbit Toddler software ($29.95) to life for your child. Toddlers can learn letters, sounds, shapes, numbers and songs using this program and will want to come back for more educational fun!
The main menu shows Mat the Mouse surrounded by nine fun-filled activities. By pressing Ctrl - P at this point, you will reach the Program Options Pad where you can print pictures, puzzles, song lyrics and coloring pages. If you click on the sign-in button and type your child's name, it will then print directly onto the printed pages. Click on the education button to learn about the benefits the program provides as well as helpful information about toddlers and how they learn. The skills area will show you exactly what children learn with each activity. Enter the Alphabet Express where a train whose boxcars have letters associated with them, will teach your child to associate letters with words. Unlocking the car door with the corresponding letter key will reveal an object that begins with that letter. The letter and the name of the object are spoken aloud to reinforce the child's vocabulary. This activity will teach matching, sounds, mouse skills, following directions, vocabulary, letters and more. Baby Basket Bingo asks the child to help the baby animals find their parents using the sounds coming from the basket. After your child matching all animals, the animals sing a lively song to your child. This will build auditory memory and listening skills. In the fantastic Bubble Castle, the idea is to get the animals into the castle by popping the bubbles they are stuck inside. Once all the animals are in the castle, they count to five and the game begins again with a different set of animals. This improves mouse control and counting skills among other things. Nursery rhymes and songs galore in the Follow-Me Theater. Your child will fall in love with Reader Rabbit and the great animation in this game. He acts out finger plays and sings songs to the kids. Skills learned here include language, small and large muscle skills, and memory skills. Children can conduct their own orchestra of flowers in the Musical Meadow. The flowers sound like different instruments as the toddler clicks on them. This will teach them patterns, mouse control and rhythm. Go To Page: 1 2
