• Listen to your body. Don't starve yourself for an interest in weight loss. You will do more damage than good and in time the damage may be irreversible. • Get support. Join a weight control group in your local area, such as Weight-Watchers or others. One of the best ways to achieve success with any endeavor is to gain the support from other people.
Remember that your body is important and the amount of weight that one has to carry can become a burden on the heart and other organs. As the holiday season becomes near, listen to your body, choose the right foods to eat, and remain healthy. If you cannot seem to get a program started now, then at least don't over-indulge during the holiday season. For example, rather than going to a party hungry, eat a healthy meal beforehand, which will help you steer away from the platter of foods that are rich in sugar and other carbohydrates. Refrain from drinking too much alcohol, as this also tends to cause weight gain. And, besides remaining active, check with your family clinician. He or she may be able to help you now or even after the Christmas tree is taken down. |
