Coming Full Circle

© Cindy Ovard

As the past month unfolded it became apparent to those around how much love we, as a nation in mourning and a world in shock had to offer one another. We offer love and support to our families, to our neighbors and to our friends.

How amazing the words of Pres. Bush during his address to congress as the nation watched perched on chairs as we listened with open hearts and wet eyes as he addressed our great nation still realing in shock. Tony Blair, Great Britain's Prime Minister sat next to the First Lady. Pres. Bush opened his remarks to thank all those who were seated. He aknowledged Tony Blair in a statement that made many hearts leap; America has no truer friend than Great Britain."

We've come a long way from the days of the Revolutionary War when England was our fiercest enemy. We were fighting for our right as a country to stand alone and be free. Listening and watching the actions of this once powerful enemy be regarded as "a true friend" made my mind think how we have come full circle, not only as a nation, but as an entire civilization.

What a lesson to teach our youth; what a lesson of friendship and peace that can be gleaned.

With an emptiness that stirs the soul we watch family ties break and harsh words spoken. Look to our past and look at the present, time can heal wounds and time can be a friend to help those who have strayed from our love or those who have left in anger return home and be loved and love again.

Life is short and as we have been made aware, life is oh, so precious. It's time to come full circle.

Family is where it's at. Isn't it about time?
