Family Vacations. Are they worth the effort?game. How many Volkswagen bugs can you see and then slug someone when you do see one. We also like to play the alphabet game. You see a car's license plate letters and numbers and try to make up what kind of work that person does for each letter on the plate. For example, a plate will say TLY124 from Maryland, USA. Whoever's turn it is would try and find words for the TLY. The driver of the TLY car is a Totally Loony Youngster from Maryland. It's a riot to see what an eight-year-old will come up with! I help my three-year-old a little bit, but he seems to have caught on and says some pretty wild things, like Turtle Lovin' Yuppie. Like he knows what a yuppie is, but he for sure knows what a turtle is thanks to turtlemania! Listening to music is a joy also. We have tapes for all ages and the kids like it when Mom and Dad will sing along with their kid tunes. We've even gotten used to listening to LeAnn Rimes over and over (our daughter's favorite). When we listen to the kids' tunes, it makes it easier for them to listen to our stuff. They don't mind listening to the Bee Gee's or Journey or my taste of country, Sawyer Brown (all six CDs!). We love to listen and sing along at the tops of our lungs with the windows rolled down as we roll on down the highway. Family Camping. - it's fantastic at finding family vacation sites. Don't be fooled by the name of the site when it comes up as Kidscamp. It has great ideas for family getaways for any region that you want to check out or even if you want to stay close to home. In fact we tried one out a few years ago; the Idaho region of Hell's canyon. It was a whitewater jetboat up the Salmon River into Hell's canyon. It was very educational about the Indians in that region. The petroglyphs were amazing, but this was also very fun for the family to just get away from the phones, the friends and all the home stuff. It took two weeks for us
