It's Summer Time: Play Time

© Cindy Ovard

Summer is peaking its green head around the corner. The kids are raring to go with their back packs full of summer time food and plenty of drinking water as the scoot on down the road towards their favorite area to play; the community park.

No matter the age or the size, the kids want to be outside where the sun is shining and where the air is fresh to breathe. What kind of foods will be safe to send in their backpacks for lunch or a snack? Foods that can take the heat from the sun and stand to sit a little bit before the kids decide to break it out and chomp it down are the best bet. Picnics season has arrived. Give a cheer; hip hip horray. Summer Picnics are the best and the most fun. Just think of laying out under the shade of your favorite tree eating your sandwich or cold fried chicken, as you gaze around to see your children playing. It's a childhood moment. One your children will remember for ever.

Summer safety is just as important. Safety tips from Children's Hospital will aid in stopping any accidents before they happen. Water safety, sunblock safety, bug repellant safety and the list goes on and on. Children's hospital helps relieve the stress of summer safety with their ideas and many ways to avoid a summertime accident.

Have a great summer full of safety and family memories. Just remember to pack your picnic full of fun, safe foods and enjoy the time being outdoors with your children. Be a kid again. Live, love and most of all, laugh with your kids.

Summer Time is the best!
