BOO! Halloween 2000

ARRRGH! Came the scream down the hall. My six year old ran past me with flailing arms. It was only when he headed straight for the back door did I realize it was a playful scream rather than a hurt scream. He was trying out his frightful Halloween yell checking to see if anyone would be afraid of him. Well, it didn't scare us, but it did make Mom and Dad a bit nervous until we could tell it was for play. Of course Mom and Dad don't know much when it comes to kids and trying to keep up with them (as our eleven year points out regularly).

Halloween is once again upon us. One of my favorite times of year. Fall is in the air with the crisp mornings. Crunching leaves can be heard under foot as we walk to school in the mornings. My son has non stop asked us to please get on with making his costume. Where to find fun ideas for new ones that are even feasible to make is a chore, but if he can give me some clue as to what he wants to look like, usually I can come up with something. Even if it's a sheet over his head with his face painted a ghostly white and big dark eyes. The sheet, nontheless, comes from the thrift store and the face paint from Walmart; all nicely priced for my Halloween budget. My eleven year old decided it was time to check out the seventies, since Mom and Dad knew so much about them. She wants to experience those days, just for one day of her life. She and Dad have a daddy/daughter halloween date to attend with the theme of famous couples in history. Danielle chose "Sonny and Cher." She's always wanted long hair that sways from side to side as she flicks her head around. (What a dream huh?) But what a girl she is! Dad will even look just groovy with his long, hairy side burns and a hairy mustache. They'll both hold play microphones in their hands for those who have a hard time figuring out who they are!

As for me, "the Momma", I'll just be myself. Did I mention my lastest subtraction, I lost my two front teeth! That black out tooth wax works really well! Try it, you'll love the results. Last year I ended up getting my whole outfit at the Salvation Army for under five bucks. House dress, sweater, shoes, purse and baggy nylons, take a look at MOMMA above and see what you think. (all comments are welcome!)
