It's early Friday morning in the summer. It's the perfect time of the day and perfect time of the year. Where will you find my children and me? We are GARAGIN' and we are hooked!
It's not that I'm a cheapskate, but I do like a good bargain and enjoy looking for antiques. My kids love to find little bargains for themselves. They might look for toys and sometimes they'll find just the right shirt to go with just the right pair of pants. The best is when they find something they've been dying for and now find it for a fraction of the price. We found my daughter's first bike, with training wheels to boot, one year. And who will argue the '93 Cadallic Sedan I found last spring in perfect condition from an estate sale. It's been the best family car with comfort we could afford. Weekly we are hooked on the hunt. Certain times of the year though, I get in the mood to clean my own house and get rid of some of those precious treasures I've picked up over the last year. When I realize that lime green lamp shade just really doesn't go with anything in my house, I resort to recycling it with my own garage sale. To each his own and every one has his own treasure to find. Organizing my own sale is top priority. My kids get invovled and we tag everything and keep track of all the precious items. We aren't out to make a buck, just to get rid of things. Sell things cheap so they'll not only go, but go fast. The best sales to hit are the ones where the sellers say "Take the whole box for a buck." or "What sounds fair to you?" and to that I reply ".50" and they smile and say "sure". Wow! I just picked up a great thingamajig for only fifty cents. Can't beat that can you? To all you early birds who think you are the only ones entitled to bargains and who think the best things are only there at six A.M.; you haven't met me and my kids mowing down the crowds in our '93 grandma Caddy. Move on over, Large Marge is here and we are hooked on 'garagin'. Go To Page: 1 2
