The beach does have its draws also, I'll admit. Sunset cookouts and beach volleyball can be a riot, as well as body surfing the waves. Either way you choose, we all need to have some swimming safety ideas and background knowledge. For the ocean going famly knowledge of the currents and tides is a must. And for those of you who own pools and have that nice luxury in your backyard, swimming rules for the neighbor kids and your own family are a must. It's not even a bad idea to have your kids take refresher swimming classes at the beginning of each year to keep them remembering just what to be careful of and what to look for when around any body of water.
So with this summer upon us once again, head to the water, whichever body of water you might enjoy. You'll find me at "my" resort. Maybe I'll see you there! But most of all enjoy it with your whole family and have fun. But mainly be safe while you are having fun with your family.
