Fall is the favorite time of year in our house. It means we can run through the leaves on the lawn. It means we can rake those fallen leaves into huge piles and jump or hid in them. It's that crisp sound of crunching leaves under our footstep.
Just what makes all the leaves turn those vibrant fall colors? Kids love to learn about the leaves. Just the other day my son brought home a leaf he found on the ground. It was half yellow and half bright orange and was huge. He asked me why it fell off the tree and why it wasn't green anymore. It was the perfect time to look on the internet for ways to teach him all about leaves.
Along the lines of fall colors, the exciting new fall fashions are out along with their own colors and exhuberance. Painting fingernails is one of the favorites of girls these days. It's fun to take a an hour and paint each others nails and spend some time talking and laughing with my daughter. It's amazing the little stuff I find out about during the small talk.
And YUM, we have to add the favorite YUM word of the autunm season: Carmel Apples and Cider.
And for those of us who just have to have family fun in the sports world here is FOOTBALL SEASON. Autumn isn't autumn until you add football.
So this autumn season, grab your family and enjoy the smells in the air. Enjoy the sounds of the season, crunching of leaves and the laughter of school playgrounds full of kids once again. Autumn is here!
