HALLOWEEN is the kick off of autumn. The crisp, cool air and the layers of sweaters that are seen around town mark the time of year. It almost gets lost in the zeal for Christmas, but Halloween can be found if you look for it.
I love this time of year and I get an early jump on it and do some fun decorations and crafts with my kids and have fun spending time together. Reading stories is great fun especially when the kids can make up the ending and make up their own story. Read stories about the season that is upon us. There are some terrific Halloween stories stories to read and re-write as a family and games to play together. Rewriting the stories can teach you something about your children that you just might not know!
We love the Halloween décor in our house and try to come up with more each year. I get the decorations out the first of the month and we "celebrate" Halloween for the entire month. The kids love spiders. We make the spiders and hide them all over the house and see who can find them, or who is the unsuspecting person to have them pop out at them. LOOK OUT! They can be anywhere! My kids are fascinated with haunted houses. Look here and get a jump on haunted house effects. They are truly a fun thing in a neighborhood. Our neighborhood has up to five different homes that do haunted houses on Halloween night and they are the rave of the kids. Even if my kids go in screaming and come out screaming, they wouldn’t miss them for the world. And even in the cyber world there are plenty of virtual haunted houses to choose from. Check it out and see how many ghosts you see floating in and out of the windows of the house! Go To Page: 1 2
