HELPING EACH OTHER TO HEALIn other scenes, many tails were wagging, as pet owners broke down in tears after they were reunited with animals who had been stranded for days, in evacuated areas, amidst the terror of rumbling, shaking, dust, smoke, screaming sirens, hunger and thirst. One man whose wife was still missing, retrieved his two cats and was moved to adopt another cat, left homeless by the attacks. As each treads the painful path of healing, they shall draw strength from one another and from the extraordinary bond that only people and pets can share.
