Cold Noses at the Pearly Gates: A Book ReviewGary writes that in the beginning, there were no wild animals or working animals or food animals. In the perfect environment of the Garden of Eden, animals were given the role of companion to mankind and both lived together in peace and harmony. One key point he makes is that God intended for this perfect situation to continue forever, without death for either human or animal. Only as a result of man's tragic fall from God and the introduction of sin into the world did this perfect situation change. In chapter 4, Gary says, "God's original plan for this world was that it should be perfect...that mankind should be perfect and that we should live forever. The perfect plan also included animals, and in keeping with the longevity considerations of that plan, they too were made perfect and intended to live without ever dying. Neither people nor animals would age or suffer disease under God's plan." Another chapter brings up the subject of animals speaking in the Garden of Eden and in the afterlife. You may be surprised at the evidence presented here which naturally leads into a discussion of communicating with animals here on earth. The book also defines and describes life, soul, and spirit, to make the point that all life comes from God, is forever connected to God, and will never end. Gary's book is uplifting and inspirational, reflecting a comforting, sweet spirit. It is written simply and clearly, with animal stories of humor and heroism sprinkled throughout, and soundly backed with many Bible scriptures. If you trust God, believe the Bible, and love animals, don't pass up this book.
