Overall the cave is a great diversion and worth the visit. The trip through the cave can only be made by guided tour. The tour is given in German, a great chance to brush up on your language skills, and they do provide English language audio during the summer season. Admission to the cave is only 3.50 Euro per person, a decent price with the current exchange rate for the US Dollar. The tour lasts about an hour and does include some steep steeps going up and down. The cave is damp in places (the floor can be slick) and handrails are provided. The temperature in the cave remains constant at around 9 degrees Centigrade (about 48 degrees Fahrenheit) throughout the year. There is a small food court at the cave, or you can meander down the trails to other eateries.

Map image is modified from the Teufelshöhle, Pottenstein guidebook (red shows the area of the cave) and the image of the cave bear is from a postcard, both of which may be purchased at the cave.
