The Gentlemens Club. The Gentleman's Club! For years the gentleman's club had been the bastion of civilised society in Great Britain, the last male preserve where gentleman of all ages were able to discuss the world, what was wrong with it an how to put it right. This class system became a very valuable tool for the British security services, who unlike its Russian, East German and US counter parts, controlled the observation and control of undesirable's from these gentleman's clubs, this was made easier as the members of the clubs were also the ruling classes and controlled most of the industrial, media & any other business that had any connection to National Security. This was the key to British national security, the old boy network, being that of old public school boys whose families had been members of the ruling classes for centuries. The world around them may have changed, but the attitude and power that the ruling classes have in Britain was a very valuable tool that could be used by the Government of the day, no matter what the political persuasion was, the gentleman's club, was the place that British Intelligence had chosen to use, instead of the usual state of the art offices and legions of men hiding and spying on suspects. The main idea behind the gentleman's club was the block an unsuitable person from gaining promotion over a certain level, this particularly applied to the BBC, the television and radio service of Great Britain that can be received around the world and has been renown for its war time efforts, of course no communist sympathiser should allowed to hold a position within the BBC where they would be able to influence the programming to show the communists in a favourable position, this simply would not do. At board level there would be a contact, who would feed information to and from the board room on the movement of staff, files were handed over to MI5 and vetted, to indicate the unacceptable candidate a triangle with a line through it would be drawn on the cover, the image was similar to a Christmas tree, in fact that was what it was refereed to as. Many careers were cut short by this system, unlike in the USA, when the infamous Senator McCarthy led the inquisition into communist infiltration of high powered jobs, the gentleman's club was a more subtle underhanded way of controlling those undesirables, without the public humiliation and very public investigation of the accused.
