The National Security Agency.

The National Security Agency.

Established in 1952, the NSA is the opposite to the CIA whose brief it is to go out and in any covert manner achieve the objective, whatever that might be, with the NSA the security of the state is their main priority, in other words stop people like the CIA infiltrating the USA mainland and causing havoc or gaining knowledge on anything that is deemed to be of National Security.

Today with the cold war treat finished the main functions of the agency are;

Terrorism.

The act of a terrorist group whose sole purpose is to cause upset to daily routines and deploy security personnel to secure non-military targets in order to cause disruption and fear.

Illegal Drugs.

The business that is worth billions of dollars worldwide, which are said to fund other criminal activities and also acts of terrorism.

Freedom Fighters.

Not to be confused with terrorists, freedom fighters are normally small self-managing cells that have a single agenda and are willing to go to any extreme to be heard.

Signals.

These used to radio signals, transmitted from hand made transmitters to communicate with another person, now the communications have become more sophisticated and accessible to everyone.

For governments the later has become the nightmare of the modern world, cyber terrorism has and will become the key to any act of war against a power that is greater than its own, small Dictator run states like those in the middle and far east who have gone out of favour with the big boys are those most likely to resort to cyber terrorism to gain the upper hand, as it is a for gone conclusion that no country could compete with the US or the like under normal battle conditions, due to the superior firepower as we have seen in the past, weapons guided by satellite and planes that are undetectable by radar, watched by millions of people “LIVE” on television.

A cyber terrorist can hack into a government or commercial computer and do more damage by planting a virus, changing a programme or even closing down a power grid, than any bomb or other act of terrorism could ever do and from a remote position with little or no chance of being apprehended, this is the new a frightening task that the NSA has to deal with. Cyber Warfare is the new warfare, every computer terminal in every office of the world is a potential cyber bomb waiting to explode, the NSA is the last line of protection, but is it enough………..stay tuned for more!
