Personal Mission Statement

When dealing with seizures, whether on a daily or monthly basis, sometimes we can easily forget who WE are. It is easy to forget what we stand for, what makes us human, what makes us great as an individual. I created a "Personal Mission Statement" to remind me of the qualities I admire most and the ones I want to emulate. Can you create your own Personal Mission Statement so you never forget what matters to you and what is important in life? Let it act as a compass to guide you to constantly focus on what is important to YOU and you alone. We all have the right to live the most productive, rewarding life imaginable. If you'd like, you could create your own Personal Mission Statement and we could put it on our official Epilepsy Connection website! Email Personal Statements to: motzko@ix.netcom.com

Personal Mission Statement (Paulette Motzko's as an example)

To find happiness, fulfillment, & value in living I will:

LEAD a life centered around the principles of trustworthiness, service, empowerment, & patience.

REMEMBER what's important in life is family, contribution, development of talents, purpose of life, & peace of mind.

REVERE admirable characteristics in others, such as being balanced, proactive, courageous, self-reliant, committed, & enthusiastic, & attempt to implement similar characteristics in my own life.

RECOGNIZE my strengths & develop talents as a person who is imaginative, artistic, a visionary, adaptable, a teacher, & a communicator.

HUMBLE myself by acknowledging that I can be unmotivated, disorganized, & pessimistic & by constantly striving to transform my weaknesses into strengths.

ENVISION myself becoming a person who:

People think is dependable, compassionate, & courageous.

capable, sensitive & determined.

selfless, committed, & proactive.

intelligent, unique, & enthusiastic.
