Year of the Oceanyoto offers a variety of information tracks: conservation and education, fisheries, recreation, science, technology, arts and entertainment, commerce, coastal living, daily news, events, multimedia ocean action and the question of the day. Yoto is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Commerce's National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the site is managed by the excellent Environmental News Network (ENN), already my favorite environmental news source. The site design is beautiful. Go to any of the primary links and you'll find lists of other useful links. Conservation and Education, for example, contains links to universities, organizations, marine sactuaries and aquariums. There's no way you'll ever finish following all the these links. The webmasters have done a tremendous job and this site is worth or more. The Marine Technology Society; the MTS Washington, DC, Section and Co-Participating Organizations will hold the MTS Ocean Community Conference '98 from Nov. 16 to 19, 1998, at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Maryland. No doubt there will be special tours of the famous National Aquarium.
