Lessons from Sammy and Dan

**Wow your audience. Don't do what everyone else is doing -- or you'll find hecklers in the audience only too quick to point out that your offerings are tired and unoriginal. Ack!

As a way to remember all this, Sammy offers his name as a guiding acronym:

S: Sensitivity: Be sensitive to kids.
A: Appropriate material: Use material that will appeal to the age of your audience.
M: Make fun characters out of regular objects. Kids love to use their imaginations!
M: Manual dexterity: Do things that require skill.
Y: You: It's up to you to give a great show. So do your best!

Be a clown!

Sincerely, Contributing Editor Sheri Bell-Rehwoldt ("Piper" the Clown)
