Fun With Ballooning - Page 3

Before I mastered it, I found the hardest part of ballooning to be tying the knot. Here's another handy tip: After you've used the balloon pump to blow up the balloon (leaving anywhere from two to four inches at the tip, depending on the shape you're creating), allow some of the air to leak out of the neck. This will give you a good two inches or so of play in which to tie the knot. I nearly lost all circulation in my finger a time or two due to winding the balloon too tightly while trying to make a knot.

Like everything else about clowning, your success at ballooning comes down to one thing: practice. You can quickly match the speed of your fellow entertainers if you'll just spend a few hours honing your ballooning skills. Have fun!

Be a clown!

Sincerely,
