Still Have Writer-Types to Buy For?

- A leather-bound journal
These are popping up in many bookstores and fine stationery stores recently. A soft leather cover and smooth, quality pages are key. Find out if your gift-ee prefers lined or unlined pages. (I have found that, in recent years, I prefer to write on unlined paper. Why, I don't know.)
- Inspirational beverages
What do I mean by this? Two words: Godiva drinks. Your favorite writer will be so much more effective when fueled with gourmet coffee or hot chocolate (Yours Truly has been hooked on their Creme Brulee java for years). Try the Godiva Web site
for inspiration of your own. - A gift certificate to Levenger.com
Tons of "writer-type" gifts!
- Fine stationery
Many of us wordsmiths are stubborn about giving up the traditional form of written communication: a handwritten letter. Beautiful memories can be made and savored by penning sentiments on luxurious Crane papers.
- Bookmarks
They make fun stocking stuffers-and can be anything from the silly ones with tiny stuffed animal heads to the elegant metal ones that clip onto your page.
- A real fountain pen, with inkwell and ink
If your gift-ee would be into this classic gift, go for it! Some writers eschew modern technology and are more inspired by a simple candle, a scroll of paper, and a fountain pen. They may wax romantic about the work situation Charles Dickens probably found himself in. Hey, whatever works! - A Night Without Armor-Poems by Jewel
Jewel's collection of poetry contains the same crystal-clear imagery and honest observations that make her songs such hits. - If you are buying for a travel writer . . .
Consider gifts that correspond to that person's travels. Local newspapers and magazines, travel guides, foods, wines, etc.
