This book was written primarily for the European region. It includes an appendix listing all the bulbous plants that have earned the "Award of Garden Merit" from the Royal Horticultural Society. Although this isn't an "American" award, I find it valuable to know which plants have earned this honor when browsing through countless catalogs. Since I am in the process of renovating my gardens, this book will be of special value in guiding me towards those bulbous plants best suited to rock gardening. This will save money and disappointment in the future.
