Indoor Geraniums-Part 6: Propagating PelargoniumsSince I've always failed with woody scented pelargoniums or the ivy leaved varieites, I was pleased to find this tutorial. Hopefully, next spring I'll have several plants propagated for use in the garden. If you've read this series of articles on scented geraniums indoors and wish you had bought some this year, take heart! Check with your local nurseries and garden stores. You are likely to find many kinds of pelargoniums at sale prices. I just picked up a variety of ivy leaved and zonal pelargoniums for $.50 to $1.50 each--at least one-half what they were a month ago! These will make up my "winter garden" and be used for additional cuttings late this winter. I'll be going on to other topics in the next few weeks, but will come back to this series later to discuss various pelargonium species and hybrids. The information here on propagation is suitable for all plants in this family. Until next week, good indoor gardening to you!
