Long Term Food Storagetruly believe that it’s a good idea to have some supplies stored in more than one location just “in case.” Under beds, in closets, garages, storage rooms, utility rooms and spare rooms are great for storage. You can store some of your items in boxes, drape the box with a pretty cover and you have an instant table. No one needs to know that you have emergency supplies inside. Stacked or lined up, draped, painted, papered, stamped or decoupaged you can store your items and “hide” them all over your house. No one needs to know that your coffee table is a couple of boxes of emergency preparedness supplies. I will continue this look at food storage next month. I would like to share one additional reference with you. I have recently downloaded a program called the Food Storage Planner. It helps you in developing a food storage program. You will create goals, track what you already have stored and what you still need and a lot more. There are also recipes that use those ingredients in your “survival” storage pantry. At $29.95 it is an affordable option for your preparedness record keeping. Since both food and water are so important to survival and need to be periodically rotated, this program can help you keep your records and rotations up to date.
