WATER SAFETY PART THREE: THE POOL

Sep 8, 2001 - © Kathleen Newton

-Rescue equipment.

-Posted emergency instructions.

-Trained, qualified staff.

-A safe environment.

Even if the pool has a lifeguard, that does NOT mean you can leave your children unattended. Your children are YOUR responsibility, and you must watch them at all times when playing in or around a pool.

One more tip: Teaching a child to swim does NOT mean you child is immune from drowning. Even children who know how to swim must be carefully supervised when in or around a pool.
