In Closing....
As far as the contest is concerned, I have no idea how to direct people when they ask questions- I can't get answers myself- so surely can't advise anyone one way or another. I can however tell you that most organizers will let you know how the judging is done, what to expect and how to get answers.
Also, if you are not happy about ANY contest, then think before you enter it again! Check out the contest thoroughly and don't be afraid to ask lots of questions about reputation, rules, or anything else that is a concern to you. Forewarned is forearmed.
Someday I hope that there will be a standard of rules and regulations for these events, so that each event will have a set criterion that must follow astringent guidelines. So that each and every event that is worthy of Elvis' name has the exact same rules in place and must qualify to become a credited competition.
My feelings on the whole situation don't really matter as one personal observation, but when more then one person is uneasy - then it is apparent that some questions have to be addressed. If they are not addressed and remain ignored, then one would have to assume that there really isn't a good enough answer to the question.
Well folks those are my thoughts and opinions on my Las Vegas adventure. As per the usual stuff, I am the only one to hold accountable for the words that you read. You take what you want and discard the rest.
I held off writing this article, for many reasons. Some of them you may already know, and if you don't- then read between the lines...
I'm only finally going through with this, because of the many guys that stood on that stage proudly singing their hearts out and left only with a pocket full of "why's"...
