Lisa Turns on the Light

You can almost hear the director yelling those famous words, "lights, camera, action," as the new hit song "Lights Out" begins. As the beat increases, the camera zooms in for a closer look at the sleek black leathered figure swaying to the music. We watch intently, as those familiar karate moves and sounds, all Elvis fans know so well, become part of the scene.

As we watch, visions of a young, oh-so-sexy, 1968 Elvis in black leather sizzles across our minds. It's then that we realize the person we're watching, is actually the same little girl we use to watch flying around Graceland in a golf cart. The one we first saw, as she was being carried home from the hospital in her daddy's arms. The one that focused, not on Elvis the entertainer, but Elvis as a proud new daddy.

Lisa Marie Presley, the little girl Elvis use to call "Buttonhead" is taking the world by storm and ready to make her mark in the music world. Her debut album, "To Whom it May Concern," will hit the shelves on April 8.

The album contains 11 brand new songs written by Lisa herself, including "So Lovely" the song she dedicated to her father at the 25th anniversary concert in Memphis during Elvis Week 2001.

"Lights Out" is expected to be the big hit of the album, and is already speeding it's way up the charts. In this catchy song, she tells so eloquently how someone turned the lights out in Memphis, then goes on to explain how her family's buried there in the "damn back lawn."

Other songs on Lisa's new album "To Whom it May Concern" include: S.O.B., The Road Between, Better Beware, Nobody Noticed, It's Sinking In, Important, Indifferent and Gone.

I recently ask Kathy Westmoreland, who watched Lisa grow up from "inside" the gates of Graceland, what she thought of Lisa's new album. Here's what "the little girl with the beautiful high voice" had to say.

"I highly recommend Lisa Marie's new CD to the entire world. She has her own style, yet...she has her own distinctive voice. She has such a rich, luscious quality to her voice! LISA, you are on your way to take your place among the greats! Of course, ....How could it be any other way. I have goose bumps just thinking of how proud Elvis must be right now.
