Elvis Fan Club Convention 2003


I'm proud to say that after doing an interview with Kathy a few years ago for the Suite, she's became a close personal friend, to both Melody and I. Spending the weekend with her was a wonderful experience we'll both cherish forever.

A few days later Kathy gave a big birthday bash for what would have been Elvis' 68th birthday at the Stardust Hotel. I brought back lots of pictures and I'll be sharing them with you next month.

Donna Presley and Dick Grob took the stage for some great story telling. The subject at hand of course was Elvis. Being a first cousin to Elvis, Donna's always full of great stories and willing to talk about them. Dick was Elvis’ Chief of Security, so between the two of them, it was a special night of sharing for the fans.

Melody Sanders who writes the Elvis Tribute Artist column and myself with our new book on Elvis Tribute Artists. When we aren't writing are columns here on Suite 101 we're busy collaborating on tribute artist projects. Walk a Mile in Their Shoes contains stories and over 40 full-length interviews with some of the top tribute artists in the country.

Rex Mansfield, who was friends with Elvis in the Army and Elisabeth Mansfield who dated Elvis, have collaborated with Zoe Terrill to share some of their wonderful memories in this must-have book. Donna Presley looking as lovely as ever was there with her great book,Elvis: Precious Memories also available in the Suite 101 Library . Written by Donna Presley Early, Lynn Edge and Edie Hand, this awesome book tells of Donna's memories growing up with her cousin Elvis. It contains numerous pictures and memories of the off-stage Elvis. It delves into his life as a man, father, uncle and cousin.
