Elvis Wish List

I’m sure we’d all of love to wake up and find Elvis alive, well, and under our trees Christmas morning, waiting for us with that devilish smile. He’d either be decked-out in Christmas red, or black leather. :) Either way, one things for sure, he’d be singing “Merry Christmas Baby,” and we’d be rockin’ around that old Christmas tree.

Tossing that dream aside for a minute, and facing the reality, here’s a list of things you, or any Elvis fan would be thrilled to find under the tree.

Christmas CDs
CDs are always an excellent choice for any of your Elvis fan friends. There’s nothing quiet like curling up by the fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate and listing to Elvis singing all your favorites. It’s Christmas Time, White Christmas, Elvis’ Christmas Album, Elvis Sings the Wonderful World of Christmas, If Every Day Was Like Christmas, Blue Christmas, Memories of Christmas and Elvis Christmas Classics, are just a few of the albums usually available this time of year.

Standard CDs
There’s always a vast selection of standards in your local record store, or If you prefer doing your Christmas shopping online, Barnes & Noble and Amazon.com always have a gigantic selection ready to browse.

Elvis Books
A good selection can usually be found in most local bookstores. You can also find hundreds of titles online; most can be shipped within 24 hours.

One book I highly recommend at this time of year is Jim Curtin and Renata Ginter’s Christmas with Elvis . This tabletop book contains over 600 photos and most of them were taken during the holidays. Displaying it proudly among your Christmas decorations will certainly will become one of your most enjoyed traditions.

Just a few other great books I highly recommend are: Elvis: Word for Word by Jerry Osborne, Elvis: Day by Day by Peter Guralnick and Ernst Jorgensen, and The Impersonal Life: The Little Book in Which Elvis Found the Light: Graceland Edition.

One of my favorite books is Elvis: His Life from A to Z by Fred L. Worth and Steve D. Tamerius. This is the book I keep on my desk at all times, I find it invaluable for looking up information and dates.

I’ll have to admit I did find some rather strange, but interesting titles while searching through Amazon and Barnes & Noble like I Saw Elvis in My Ultrasound and Elvis is Dead and I Don‘t Feel So Good Myself. You’ll have to make your own judgement, but I had to at least share the titles.
