Elvis Presley's Memphis Restaurant

With the holiday season upon us, and food weighing heavily (pun intended) on our minds, It seemed only natural to dedicate one of my November articles to one of the best restaurants in Memphis, Tennessee.

You haven't fully seen Memphis until you've stopped by Elvis Presley’s Memphis restaurant, located on World famous Beale Street.

This famous restaurant serves-up traditional Southern cuisine in true Elvis-style. It's an absolute not-to-be-missed taste and viewing pleasure for the Elvis fan, that begins the minute you walk in the door.

Their large varied menu includes numerous Elvis favorites, like Fried Dill Pickle Chips, Hickory Smoked BBQ Chicken, Southern Style Meatloaf, Smoked Baby Back Ribs and Charbroiled T-bone Steak.

The delicious Fried Pecan Crusted Catfish wasn't marked as one of his favorites, but I'm sure it would have been, if he'd tried it the way they make it, smothered in pecans.

The sandwich area of the menu consists of Hunka Hunka Burgers, as well as, of course, Elvis' all-time favorite, the the Fried Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwich. This is the original recipe we've all heard so much about. Made by spreading Texas toast with peanut butter and fresh sliced bananas, it's then brushed with butter and grilled to perfection.

Before, during, and after your meal, enjoy a fresh cup of “King’s Blend” Coffee - which is exclusively blended for Elvis Presley’s Memphis Restaurant. The last cup is best enjoyed with a slice of their outstanding Gladys' Apple Pie.

While enjoying your meal you're treated to continuous Elvis film clips on a large theatre screen for both your viewing, and listening pleasure.

In front of the screen, a stage is set and ready for live entertainment. You can check their website for a list of upcoming shows at Entertainment Calendar

Be sure to browse the entire restaurant while you're there. The upstairs is full of more memorabilia, including one of his white pianos. Also included is the actual pool table that Elvis was seen playing on, and around, with the Beatles on August 27, 1965.

This unique Elvis-style bar allows you to watch TV the way Elvis did--three at a time.

After your meal be sure to check out their quaint little gift shop. It contains more Elvis items in a one small area then you can imagine. CDs, T-shirts, books, and pictures. You name it, they have it. I spent a small fortune there, so I should know. A few of their signature items are offered online at
