America the Beautiful

On September 11, 2001 we were hit with the most devastating blow of our time. I doubt any of us will ever forget the horrifying scenes of that day, or the memories of what we were doing at the time we heard the unbelievable news.

Now as we're all battling the uncertainty of what tomorrow will bring, there is one thing we CAN all be certain of, and that is how strongly this tragedy would have affected Elvis Presley.

If he were alive today, as we all know, he would have been the first person in line to donate both money, and his talents.

We would be watching intently as he stood on that stage, proudly wearing his American Eagle jumpsuit, with flags swaying gently behind him. His eyes would be filled with tears, but his powerful voice would be giving us the much needed inspiration and encouragement we all need to carry on.

With this thought in mind, Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc., RCA and Elvis fans worldwide have joined together for two great fund-raising events.

The first, a new digitally enhanced RCA CD-single appropriately named "America the Beautiful."

The CD will feature three of Elvis' most powerful performances. "If I Can Dream," originally recorded live for the 1968 Comeback TV special,"America the Beautiful," recorded on stage in Las Vegas Hilton on December 1975 and "Amazing Grace" recorded on March 15, 1971 at RCA Studios in Nashville.

The CD can be played normally on your CD player or it can be viewed on your computer.

"America the Beautiful" is due to arrive in stores worldwide October 16. It will also be available through various online distributors like Amazon.com (available now for pre-orders) and Elvis.com

All net proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross Liberty Disaster Relief Fund.

The second, is a fund-raising project started by Elvis Fan Clubs and fans around the world in his name.

Donations should be made to this project by December 15. At that time the fan clubs will turn their monies over to The Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation, who will in turn, give the balance over to the American Red Cross. The EPE foundation itself has already made a sizeable donation, but is planning on doing it again by contributing to the fund drive.
