More Memories of The Day Elvis Died
even though I was not around when he died...I relive his death often...I mourn him just like the rest of the Elvis fans! I have loved him for over 10 years!! I relive the moments through other people who were around when he died! He is amazing and I miss him!

Elvis Presley died on my 18th birthday. This was supposed to be a big day for me. I had just got my first job and was out buying clothes for the new me. I was to have a birthday party that night. When I arrived home from shopping, my step-dad told me to go and see to mom (a big Elvis fan) because she was crying. Why I asked ? Elvis died today, he answered. I was shocked. It did not seem possible. My mom had just been to his last concert here in Jax. well needless to say, my 18th birthday party was postponed for a week. I didnt mind though. I wrote a poem in his honor that night and my mom still has it.

I was on my way to a Double header Cincinnatti Reds game with the Saint Louis Cardinals with a friend of mine from school. I was in Junior high and we earned the tickets for earning straight A's.

I was 12 years old at that time and was with my Mom who is the same age as Elvis. We were at the Cunningham Drug Store in Grinnell, Iowa. We were sitting at the soda fountain counter eating a Candyland ice cream sundae. I will never forget that day because the ladies behind the counter with the beehive hairdoos were listening to the radio with the news of the death of Elvis and were crying out loud. We were all so sad about the news and I have never forgotten it.

I was five when Elvis died.I remember my sister came in and told my mom. She turned on the T.V. and we all watched. I was crying and so was everyone else.
