THE 12TH ANNUAL ELVIS PARADE IN KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI

Music filled the air as thousands lined the streets of downtown Kansas City. The 12th annual parade launched its trek around Barney "Elvis" Plaza with Grandpa Munster in the lead. He was Flanked by Matt Lewis in black leather and Tarry Westley in a blue sequined jump suit as the Elvis celebration began.

Following the parade the crowd was treated to a rousing rendition of "Blue Suede Shoes" as Matt and Tarry combined their talents and rocked the crowd to their feet.

Jerry Presley, Elvis' cousin in black sequin jump suit kept us there as he sang some of the great all-time tunes in true Elvis style.

David Smith Sr., known as the human cannon ball, shot over the crowd for the finale of the first set of festivities.

The streets filled again with Elvis fans as the group made its way to the City Market area. There they partied for hours as the second part of the "Elvestival" began.

From the downtown festivities we made our way to "Spirits" in Independence Missouri. There Tarry Westley put on an outstanding performance. Tarry was a back-up singer for Elvis in the 60s' and has many stories to tell. He's promised to share some of them with us for a later article.
