Tribute Statue

This is the artist's rendering of the tribute statue to Elvis Presley, to be placed in front of the Municipal Auditorium, on Elvis Presley Avenue, in Shreveport, Louisiana, USA.

--------------------------------------------------

The inscription for the tribute statue:

ELVIS PRESLEY "Ladies and Gentlemen, you've not heard of this young man before but one day you'll tell your children and grandchildren that you heard history made here tonight."

With these prophetic words, Elvis Presley was introduced to the country from the stage of the Municipal Auditorium on The Louisiana Hayride radio program in October of 1954. From a working class background, Elvis would rise to become the king of pop culture and an ambassador of a new age... and arguably the most beloved artist of the 20th century. Dedicated October 2004 Sculptor: Eric Kaposta

Calling all Elvis fans!

You can be a part of history by helping The Elvis' Angels Fan Club bring a statue of Elvis Presley to the Municipal Auditorium in Shreveport, Louisiana, USA, where Elvis got his start on The Louisiana Hayride radio program in 1954.

A large, bronze statue of the King of Rock 'n Roll as he looked in the 1950s has been approved by Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. to be placed in front of the Municipal Auditorium, on Elvis Presley Avenue, in tribute to Elvis Presley. Renowned sculptor Eric Kaposta has been commissioned as the artist for the statue and it will be unveiled in October 2004 as part of the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Elvis' first performance on the Hayride.

But none of this can be done unless $60,000 can be raised to pay for the statue. Elvis' Angels Fan Club of Shreveport is working hard to raise the money and is asking for your help in this worthy cause, a beautiful tribute statue capturing the King in all his glory.
