More Elvis Song Entries

Have you read the winning entry of the song contest yet? If not, go into the archives and read Elvis Contest Winner. It was well written by Ann Stanton. Thanks again, Ann.

Here are a few more fan's votes: Walt K. Johnson wrote that his favorite Elvis song is "Are You Lonesome Tonight."

Dennis Pearson says his favorites are "That's Alright, Mama, Baby, Let's Play House, Lawdy Miss Clawdy and Trouble."

My good friend Florence Cardinal told me these touching stories. "Heartbreak Hotel" - One of the first songs I remember hearing Elvis sing. It always made me shiver and feel like crying. His voice is so strong and penetrating on this song.

I'll also have to mention "Don't be Cruel." This was one on my husband's favorites, and I can remember him having a few beers and belting this song out. Didn't matter that he couldn't carry a tune. He loved Elvis and it showed in his voice.

Read Florence's interesting column on divination.

Other votes included "Teddy Bear" and "One Night With You." Those are my all-time favorites. :)

Thanks to all who voted for their favorite Elvis songs.

My husband and I are heading for Memphis next week. It will be our fourth visit. I should be bringing back lots of pictures and stories to share.
