Canadian Elvis Tribute Artist-STUART MACLEOD

Well I haven't been around nearly as much as I would like to be, seems that my youngest daughter prefers my companionship more then any one else's. I'm going to take advantage of it though-it lasts for such a short time! I'm sure that I will be back in the swing of things in the next few.... Um..... Years?

One thing I did manage to do, but haven't had to time to write about - was the opportunity to take the family to the Penticton Elvis Festival. Although I was only able to go and spend a few short hours on a Sunday afternoon, I was really getting desperate to get an "Elvis fix", so an afternoon was going to have to do!

The day my gang loaded up into the van complete with baby stroller and no less then a dozen toys for each kid, was hot and sunny. I went with pen, paper and my wonderful little tape recorder. I was able to catch up and visit with Elvis Tribute Artist Stuart Macleod and hear what he had to say about the festival, the music and Elvis!

I've personally known Stuart since 1998 when my sister in law, Debbie and I had traveled for the weekend to watch Darren Lee in his re-creation of Elvis' '68 Comeback Special at the Michael J. Fox theater in Vancouver BC.

Stuart who is also a good friend of Darren's had been a part of this performance and we were able to meet him and also Darren's younger brother, Robin Kelly - who had not yet sported the side burns to become an ETA himself, it would be a few more years before Robin walked into that limelight!

We also met up with Stuart again the following year when Darren took his re-creation to the Queen Elizabeth Theater in Vancouver where Debbie and I were fortunate enough to be able to help behind the scenes.

It was the Penticton Elvis Festival were Stuart was voted as the "Top Canadian Tribute Artist" and where his fan following has since grown by leaps and bounds, bringing new friends into his path and watching his career gain momentum.
