This year August began as usual, with all the pomp and circumstance as thousands of fans made their pilgrimage to Memphis from all over the world for the annual Elvis Week festivities. This year however, instead of ending with the memories of Elvis Week and all it has to offer, it ended in shock as we learned of the loss of three great men connected to Elvis' circle of friends. Al Dvorin famous for the words, "Elvis has left the building", Richard Davis, Elvis' wardrobe manager and close friend, and Ira Jones, Elvis' Army Sergeant all lost their lives in August. If you missed Elvis Week this year you can catch VigilCast 2004 on the official The Official Graceland Home Pages
MEMORIES OF ELVIS WEEKS GONE BY Melody and I were unable to make the trip this year, but if it's photos you want, here are a few highlights from past Elvis Week experiences.

ANNUAL
This year the Gold went to, David Lee, of Birmingham, Alabama. Watching David perform many times over the last few years, I can tell you from first hand experience that he has a fantastic voice, and a personality to match. When Melody and I began work on our book Walk a Mile in Their Shoes a few years ago, David was one of the first interviews we did. At that time he'd only been doing his tribute for a little less than a year, but not only made it to Images, but walked away with 3rd. place. Quite an accomplishment for a newcomer.
